The Minister of State for Education, Dr Yusuf Sununu has extolled the Bauchi State Governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed over his commitment toward reviving the education sector.

The minister spoke on Monday at the inauguration of an Education Summit in Bauchi, hailing the governor over his plan to design an implementable roadmap to improve access to quality education in the state.

He said education, being on the concurrent list, is the responsibility of the federal and state governments, with the bulk of the burden on the states. “I wish to reiterate that education is our collective responsibility and its failure can well be taken as the failure of the entire country.“

It is based on this that the Federal Ministry of Education recognizes and commends the efforts of Gov. Bala Mohammed for the great strides in Bauchi State. “Most especially, your plan to revolutionize the education sector by designing an implementable roadmap that will ensure equitable access to quality and functional education,” he said.

The minister added that to further tackle some of the challenges in the education sector, the Federal Ministry of Education developed a roadmap titled ‘Education for Renewed Hope’.Sununu charged the participants to open their minds and x-ray the problems hindering the progress of education in Bauchi State.
