Renewed Hope Initiative: First Lady flags off distribution of fabrics to APC women nationwide

The Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has flagged off the distribution of fabrics in commercial quantities to women in politics across the 36 states of the federation, including the FCT.

Flagging off the fabrics distribution on Wednesday, the First Lady, who was represented by the Vice Chairman of RHI and wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima, disclosed that the RHI is targeting women’s empowerment at all levels to improve the nation’s economy.

According to her, the RHI support will go a long way in recapitalizing the women’s fabric businesses while enumerating the support that President Tinubu has given to women, especially, the involvement of women in the present administration and the role women play as well as the notable positions women occupy in various organizations at different levels.

She noted that the economic intervention is part of RHI’s social investment program aimed at empowering women across the country to engage in trade and commerce for the benefit of their homes and the society at large as mothers.

The National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, in his remark, praised women for their unwavering efforts and contributions to the electoral process.

He acknowledged the increase in the number of women vying for political offices, which he said was previously low due to cultural, religious, and economic factors while appreciating the Wife of the Vice President for her support and encouragement to the women folks.

Highlights of the event include symbolic presentation of fabrics in large quantity to the beneficiaries and group photographs among others.
