Climate and Military: The Effect of Global Militarization on Mother Earth

Recent reports by Scientists for Global Responsibility (SGR) and other similar agencies reveal the overwhelmingly negative impact of global military activities on our climate.

CLIMATE AND MILITARY: THE EFFECT OF GLOBAL MILITARIZATION ON MOTHER EARTH is an awareness session that seeks to explore the negative effect of Global Militarization on our planet.

Professor Anuradha Chenoy is the former Dean at the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She has been chairperson of Area Studies Director in the Centre for Russian and Central Asian Studies. She has written many books, monographs, and articles in the domain of security studies, development studies, and gender studies.

She has held short-term consultancies with the International Committee of the Red Cross, UNESCO, Action Aid International, UN Women, and UN Peacekeepers. She has also evaluated the work of organizations like Focus on the Global South and the Asia Europe Peoples Forum.

Rasheed Yusuf is an international affairs and diplomacy consultant, a public health consultant, and a public policy adviser.

He is the founder and director of the Raha Foundation, a member of the African steering committee of the International Peace Bureau, and deputy director of programs at the Bureau of African Peace.

The online program was hosted by Mohammed B Abubakar, Founder and Secretary-General of the Centre for Peacebuilding Organizations(CFPO) – an NGO that seeks to promote peace in Africa through peace advocacy and youth empowerment with members in over thirty(30) countries. The online programs, covering different societal issues, are part of its advocacy programs geared towards sensitizing the general public, particularly the youth, on some of the pressing issues confronting humanity.
