Ghana and Kayserispor striker Asamoah Gyan is set to expand his business empire after being granted a licence to operate airline.
Citi Sports sources have revealed that the airline will be named Baby Jet Airlines.
Reports indicate that the airline will focus on cargo handling initially before expanding to airlift travelers.
Gyan saw his fortunes sour after trading the Premier League for the United Arab Emirates and later China where he became one of the world’s highest earning footballers raking in figures in excess of 200,000 USD per week.
He has since set about investing his money in real estate, mining and oil sectors while also running a boxing promotion enterprise.
The revelation was made by President Akufo Addo at the first ever African Air show.
Government is committed to encouraging and supporting local airlines and entrepreneurs to set up strong private airlines.
“I have been reliably informed that the captain of our senior national team Asamoah Gyan has obtained an air carrier licence and is working furiously to establish an airline to be named Baby Jet Air line.
“I want to encourage Ghanaians living both home and abroad to invest in the rapidly growing aviation sector,” the President revealed.
