Nigerian Editors converge as the 15th edition of the annual All Nigeria Editors Conference kicks off on Thursday in Sokoto, the seat of the Caliphate.

The theme for this year’s conference jointly hosted by the Sokoto Government and the Nigerian Guild of Editors is “A distressed Media: impact on government, governance and society”.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed and the Governor, Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal are special Guests of honour while former Governor Olusegun Osoba of Ogun State is chairman with a former President of the Guild and Editor in chief of Vanguard Newspaper. Mr. Gbenga Adefaye will deliver the keynote address.

The three days conference will also feature round table discussions on the theme and other issues affecting the profession as well as an executive session with several State Governors as well as an assessment tour of Sokoto state.

Our Correspondent reports that already over three hundred Editors from across the country are in Sokoto for the conference.
