Zamfara APC crisis: Jaji’s faction appoints Ajiya-Anka as chair

A faction in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara under Jajiyya Movement has appointed Alhaji Isiyaka Ajiya-Anka as its acting Chairman.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Jajiyya movement faction made up of aggrieved members of the party under the leadership of House of Representatives member Aminu Jaji, representing Kaura Namoda/ and Birnin-Magaji Federal Constituency.

Ajiya-Anka was confirmed by the state stakeholders of the Jajiyya APC movement in Gusau on Wednesday.

Speaking at the meeting, Ajiya-Anka said the new faction was formed following the alleged suspension of the state party Chairman, Alhaji Tukur Danfulani and the State APC Secretary Ibrahim Dangaladima by their ward executives.

“It is a well-known fact that the APC leadership in the state under Danfulani was divided into various political groups.

“The APC leadership under Danfulani denied the right of other state executive members of the party from participating in the party’s activities.

“We call this meeting to discuss issues for unity and overall development of our great party in the state with a view of solving the problem and challenges currently facing the party in the state”, he explained,” he said.

The factional chairman called on security agencies and the national headquarters of the party to prevent any individual from parading themselves as leader of the party.

“We appeal to President Bola Tinibu to support the party members who have been loyal to him from the onset before he became the president of Nigeria”, he explained.

“As law abiding members of the party, we are seeking support of Mr President and National Headquarters of our party to the security situation of the state, which has been under siege by bandits and other criminal elements.

“I am calling on APC members and supporters in the state to always rally round the party’s activities and remain law-abiding citizens.

“I want to use this opportunity to call on party members to continue to pray for peace, progress and betterment of the people of Zamfara and offer special support, understanding and cooperation to the new leadership of the APC in the state”, he added.

Ajiya-Anka assured of his commitment to the success of the party, its unity, progress and wellbeing of all the members without discrimination.

“The APC in Zamfara under my watch shall be an example of good governance, integrity, probity and transparency with an open-door policy for every member,” he said.

NAN recalls that, Ajiya-Anka before his appointment as APC faction State Chairman of Jajiyya movement was the former Zonal APC Vice Chairman under Tukur Danfulani.
