WAFU Tournament: Black Queens to play Nigeria in semi-finals

Black Queens of Ghana

Ghana’s Black Queens will renew their rivalry with Nigeria as they clash in the first semi-final match of the on-going WAFU women’s tournament to be played on Thursday.

Topping Group B, Nigeria made sure of keeping the top spot with a 3-1 win against Togo in their final group match, despite resting their entire starting 11 with the exception of three players.

The Black Queens finished second in Group A behind Cote d’Ivoire after their emphatic 4-1 win against Burkina Faso in their final group game last Sunday.

The second semi-final game will be an all francophone affair between Cote d’Ivoire and Mali.

Both matches will be played at the Parc des Sports.
