Anuoluwapo Opeyori and Godwin Olofua were eliminated from the men’s doubles badminton event at the 2020 in Tokyo on Tuesday.

Within 26 minutes of play, Opeyori and Olofua were defeated 0-2 (8-21 10-21) by Vladimir Ivanov and Ivan Sozonov of the Russia Olympic Committee (ROC).

The game at the Musashino Forest Plaza court was a Group B match in the competition’s Group Play Stage, according to the Nigerian News Agency (NAN).

Team Nigeria finished last in their group and did not move to the competition’s quarter-finals as a result of the outcome.

After losing 0-2 to Japan on Saturday and 0-2 to Denmark on Monday, they were in desperate need of a win.
