The House of Representatives Member representing Jere Federal Constituency of Borno State, Hon. Ahmed Satomi has again distributed 2,500 bags of wheat to vulnerable ones in the constituency irrespective of political or religious affiliation.
Just few days ago, the lawmaker who is the Chairman House Committee on National Security, distributed about 2,500 bags of 50kg fertilizer to real farmers across the 12 Wards in Jere.
Flagging off the distribution of the gesture on Sunday in Maiduguri metropolis, Satomi said, the gesture were proceed from one of his farms, where he engages hundreds of people mostly youths into farming.
He then called on his people to embrace agriculture which is the main source of income to make them self- reliant.
While speaking to Journalists, Satomi said: ” I am glad to be part of this event. Just like I promised distribution of food palliatives last week after we flagged of distribution of fertilizer. ”
“We are here today to distribute another 2,500 bags of wheat to my constituents. This is a routine event and we will continue to do so. Next week, we will flag off another empowerment programme for our Youths and women folks.
“This food palliatives we are giving out is for targeted beneficiaries, mostly the less privileged ones irrespective of political, ethnic or religious consideration. We have been doing it all these while including our Party Executives and Stakeholders. But this time we are focusing on everyone in needy.
“This gesture was inline with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive that we should all go back to our constituency and support or complement efforts of the federal and state government in cushioning the current economic hardships in the land.
“You have seen that our Governor Babagana Zulum was in Monguno town where he distributed food and non-food items to thousands of people, and we are replicating similar gesture here to our people in Jere Federal Constituency. Life is not easy, and we are doing everything possible within our reach in providing succour to the needy ones in the society.
” We are making ourselves available to our people to interface with them and know how best we can solve their immediate problems. These beneficiaries were carefully selected devoid of any political or religious inclination.
“As I said earlier, these gesture are proceed from one of my farms in the constituency. I was in the farm today, and I was impressed with massive turnout of people working on their farms. Jere is an agrarian community and we pray that God will sustain the relative peace so that our farmers would always be secured”, he said.
In their separate vote of thanks, some of the beneficiaries, Mallam Ali Isa of Khaddamari, Aisha Ibrahim of Gongulong and Abba Sanda Umar of Mashamari ward, appreciated Satomi for routine provision of food and non-food palliatives to constituents, and pledged their loyalty to the lawmaker at all times.
