Real Madrid have announced that their basketball ball captain, Sergio Llull, has agreed to an extension to his contract that will see him remain at the club until next summer.

The Spanish club disclosed this in a statement on their website on Thursday.

“Real Madrid C. F. and our captain Sergio Llull have agreed an extension to his contract, linking him to the club for next season,” Real Madrid’s statement partly read.

Llull joined Real Madrid back in 2007 when he was 19 years old.

He has gone on to become one of Madrid’s greatest legends.

In his 18 seasons at the club, Llull won 28 trophies: 3 European Cups, 1 Intercontinental Cup, 8 Leagues, 7 Copas del Rey and 9 Spanish Super Cups.

He has played a total of 1,083 games for Real Madrid, a legendary figure that will continue to rise.
