President Tinubu Expresses Condolences for the Tragic Fire at the Canadian High Commission in Abuja

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his sympathy with the Canadian government and the victims of the fire incident that happened at the Canadian High Commission in Abuja on Monday.

This was according to a release by his Special Adviser, (Media and Publicity), Ajuri Ngelale, while reacting to the fire incident.

Two people lost their lives during the incident while many people were injured with severe burns.

The FCT Fire Service’s Head of Operations, Amiola Adebayo, confirmed the incident, noting that two individuals were killed and three or four others were hurt in the incident.

The statement which conveyed the President’s condolences read, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu sympathizes with the Canadian government, the diplomatic community, and all persons affected by a fire incident which occurred on Monday at the Canadian High Commission in Abuja.

“The President assures the Canadian authorities of the full support of the Nigerian government in the aid of diplomatic and local staff of the High Commission who were particularly affected by the incident.

“President Tinubu prays for the repose of the departed souls and wishes all injured persons a rapid and full recovery.”
