President Bola Tinubu appoints Nuhu Ribadu, Dele Alake, others as Special Advisers

Barely 24 hours after suspending the Chairman of Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), President Bola Tinubu approved today the appointment of what is believed to be the first set of his Special Advisers.

The President had already obtained the approval of the Nigerian Senate to appoint a total of 20 Special Advisers.

Prominent on the list of the appointees are the former EFCC, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu as Special Adviser on Security and, a one-time Lagos State Commissioner for Information & Strategy, Mr. Dele Alake as Special Adviser, Special Duties, Communications & Strategy.

Special Adviser, Special Duties, Communications and Strategy

2. Mr. Yau Darazo

Special Adviser, Political and Intergovernmental Affairs

3. Mr. Wale Edun

Special Adviser, Monetary Policies

4. Mrs. Olu Verheijen

Special Adviser, Energy

5. Mr. Zachaeus Adedeji

Special Adviser, Revenue

6. Mr. Nuhu Ribadu

Special Adviser, Security

7. Mr. John Ugochukwu Uwajumogu

Special Adviser, Industry, Trade and Investment.

8. Dr (Mrs.) Salma Ibrahim Anas

Special Adviser, Health

The appointments are with immediate effect.
