Palestine Ambassador to Nigeria charges Int’l Community on More Efficient Ways to End Israel-Palestine Conflict
The Palestine Ambassador to Nigeria, Abdullah Shawesh has called on the European Union (EU) and the international community to increase their peaceful, legal, and diplomatic tools to pressure Israel not only to put an end to the expansion of settlements but also to dismantle them as a real and tangible step towards the embodiment of the state of Palestine.
According to Shawesh, continuing with business as usual will not be helpful at al, noting that Israel is accustomed to hearing these positions and does not pay them any attention.

Full statement reads:
“I would like to start by expressing my deep sympathy and empathy for the families of the kidnapped students and others in the north. Hearing this type of news deeply moves me and adds to my own sadness. Humanity is undividable.
“According to Jewish law, all Gaza residents must be killed”
Rabbi Eliyahu Mali.
“This type of bloody incitement is fully tolerated by the Israeli authorities, and is greatly welcomed and approved by a wide audience. This is not the first time that Jewish rabbis have come out to publicly incite against the innocent Palestinian people. It is noteworthy that Israel imprisons any Palestinian simply because they sympathize with the victims of the war on social media under the pretext of incitement.
“The Israeli Jewish society are degrading to more radicalism and extremism, while the entire world stands against the invasion of Rafah. 75% of Israeli Jews are supporting this war crime “A new poll finds that around three-quarters of Jewish Israelis support an expansion of IDF operations in Gaza’s southernmost city of Rafah, where more than half of the Strip’s 2.3 million people are sheltering in the area amid the ongoing war”

“As of Today, March 14, there have been 31,272 martyrs and 73,024 injured, with 72% being children and women. More than 8,000 are still missing under the rubble, and in many cases, Israel prevents the rescue teams from reaching them or even evacuating the dead bodies
“The number of children reported killed in just over 4 months in Gaza is higher than the number of children killed in 4 years of wars around the world combined. This war is a war on children. It is a war on their childhood and their future.” Philippe Lazzarini UNRWA Commissioner General,
The death toll among infant children in Gaza due to malnutrition and drought has risen to 23.
“These are only the ones who reached the hospitals and medical units; others may have died at home and not been registered.
As of March 6, the total number of UNRWA staff killed since the beginning of hostilities is now 162. Between 7 October 2023– 6 March 2024, 415 Palestinians, including at least 106 children, have been killed in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
“As of March 12, the detention toll in the Occupied West Bank has reached 7,555, including 240 women, 500 children, 22 journalists sentenced to administrative detention, and 37 still under arrest. In the last 160 days, more than 4,122 orders of administrative detention have been issued. 12 detainees have died in Israeli detention camps and prisons.
“Regarding Gazan prisoners, there is no information available due to Israel’s refusal to provide any information and their practice of forcibly hiding them. The total number of Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons currently stands at 9100.
“The Israeli prime minister has instructed the government to urgently prepare thousands of spaces for new detainees and prisoners, as the security assessment predicts that by 2024, thousands more Palestinians will be arrested in the OPT.
“In press release by the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor “Palestinian prisoners and detainees from the Gaza Strip who are being held by the Israeli army are being subjected to premeditated murder and arbitrary execution outside the purview of the law and the judiciary”
“UNRWA report says Israel coerced some agency employees to falsely admit Hamas links, under this tittle wrote the Israeli newspaper Time of Israeli and I quote “The UN agency for Palestinian refugees says some employees released into Gaza from Israeli detention reported having been pressured by Israeli authorities into falsely stating that the agency has Hamas links and that staff took part in the October 7 attacks”.
“The Israeli occupation spares no effort to kill the Palestinian people and has invented new ways to do so. One of these methods is preventing the entry of life-saving medical supplies.
“The UNRWA Commissioner General, Philippe Lazzarini, wrote on his Twitter account and I quote, “Medical scissors are now added to a long list of banned items the Israeli Authorities classify as “for dual use”. The list includes basic and lifesaving items: from anesthetics, solar lights, oxygen cylinders and ventilators, to water cleaning tablets, cancer medicines and maternity kits.”
“Regarding the airdrops of aid to starving Palestinians, “Several Palestinians were killed earlier this week when one of the parachutes carrying such aid didn’t open properly and landed on civilians at high speed.” Not only does this Hollywood-styleensure the continuation of the Israeli crime of genocide, but it also comes with some fraud to cover the ugly face of those who continue to supply Israel with weapons and equipment with which to kill innocent Palestinians.
“Under the tittle “U.S. floods arms into Israel despite mounting alarm over war’s conduct” The Washington Post newspaper wrote and I quote, “Washington has approved more than 100 separate military sales to Israel since its invasion of Gaza, even as officials complain Israeli leaders have not done enough to protect civilians. The United States has quietly approved and delivered more than 100 separate foreign military sales to Israel since the Gaza war began Oct. 7….The triple-digit figure, which has not been previously reported, is the latest indication of Washington’s extensive involvement in the polarizing five-month conflict even as top U.S. officials and lawmakers increasingly express deep reservations about Israel’s military tactics in a campaign that has killed more than 30,000 people”.
“The airdrop of humanitarian aid by the United States of America to the people of Gaza is not a result of a sudden surge of human feeling or a newfound awakening of consciences. The decision to drop aid into Gaza from US aircraft was made based on advice from legal advisors to mitigate the risks of being accused of complicity in genocide, particularly for those who supplied weapons without strict conditions on their use against civilians.
“The report issued by the Euro Med Human Right Monitor states that there is new evidence confirming Israel’s full involvement in the ‘Flour Massacre’ of starving Palestinian civilians that took place on Thursday, 29 February. From the report I would like to quote “Several recent developments confirm Israel’s full involvement in what has been dubbed the “Flour Massacre”, revealed Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor in a new statement, referring to the killing of Palestinian civilians attempting to receive humanitarian aid at dawn last Thursday.”
“Last Thursday, the UNSG met with some Palestinian survivors of the current Israeli genocide and listened to them firsthand. He tweeted, “I was deeply moved by the horrifying testimonies I heard of family members of victims of the war in Gaza today. Some lost over a hundred relatives. This horror must stop now.”
“The UN special rapporteur on the OPT, Francesca Albanese stresses that the “arm embargo and economic sanctions on Israel are the only way to stop the genocide in Gaza.”
“On March 6, Israel greenlit the advancement plan for 3426 new Israeli homes to be built on the Occupied Palestinian Territories. The EU condemns this Israeli move and urged Israel to reverse its decision, reiterating its position that the settlements are illegal under international law and constitute an obstacle to peace, as they threaten the two-state solution.
“The EU’s position is good but not sufficient. The EU and the international community still has a lot of peaceful, legal, and diplomatic tools to pressure Israel not only to put an end to the expansion of settlements but also to dismantle them as a real and tangible step towards the embodiment of the state of Palestine. Continuing with business as usual will not be helpful at all; Israel is accustomed to hearing these positions and does not pay them any attention.”
