Determined to sustain the increase in export cargoes from the licensing of Export Processing Terminals, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Mohammed Bello-KoKo, received executives of the Satellite Truck Park Owners Association.
According to a statement on Wednesday, the meeting, which was held at the NPA headquarters in Lagos, focused on prioritising cargo export.
He added that the essence was in response to the national exigency of boosting exports to strengthen Nigeria’s balance of trade.
Bello-Koko said that NPA had also set a timeline for the strict implementation of the service level agreement governing truck management and satellite park operations to ensure adherence to best practices.
The KoKo-led management of the NPA recently unleashed stringent measures in collaboration with the Lagos State Government that eliminated the decade-long traffic gridlock that had undermined the ease of doing business around the Lagos ports corridor.
