The Nigerian Citizens Association South Africa (NICASA), has reorganised its Board of Trustees (BoT) and executive, to boost leadership growth.

The President General of NICASA, Mr Benjamin Okoli, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Tuesday that the organisation’s executive unanimously agreed to reorganise the BoT based on founded reasons.

“We went on to dispassionately deal with matters as agreed in our executive; Ssme members of the BoT were removed during the process of reorganisation.

“We do not think everyone of the former members of the BoT who did not make it into to the new national advisory committee is happy, but we believe that sound mind and reason will prevail.

“I am completely confident that the few members of executive will recover their bearing and tow the line of peace and harmony,” Okoli said.

He decried attempts by some aggrieved members to tarnish NICASA’s image, in a bid to make the organisation look unacceptable, disorganised; and create a bad reputation for it.According to him, the plot against NICASA is even deeper, from available information.

The president general said: “The truth is that the few executives who seem to collude with the former BoT are not privileged with this information.

“I am certain of sorting out any interruptions and returning things to normal shortly; let us give some benefit to individuals and hope they will retrace and abide by the rules.

“The Nigeria High Commissioner and the Consul General to South Africa were properly informed of the plan to reorganise the BoT before it happened.

”He said that the reorganisation involved a change of the name of the former BoT to National Advisory Committee and the inclusion of provincial leaders as members.
