FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) striker Neymar have struck an amicable arrangement to settle their long-running contract dispute.

The Brazilian international claimed the Spanish La Liga giants owed him 43.6 million euros (51.3 million dollars) in unpaid bonuses.

After signing a new five-year contract with the Caf, Neymar believed he was entitled to the massive figure as a loyalty incentive.

In June 2020, a judge found in favor of Barca, ordering Neymar to pay his former employers 6.7 million euros.

The case has been closed, according to Barca, who announced it on Monday.

“FC Barcelona announces that it has extrajudicially resolved peacefully several labor and civil litigations that had arisen with the Brazilian footballer Neymar da Silva Santos Junior,” the club said in a statement.

“As a result, the club and the player have signed a transactional agreement to cease legal actions pending between them: three labor claims and one civil proceeding.”

In August 2017, Neymar joined PSG for a world-record cost of 222 million euros.
