The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested five suspects in separate theft incidents, and recovered stolen items, including two 32-inch LG television sets.

The command’s Police Public Relations officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.

Nansel disclosed that the A Division, Lafia, received a complaint on Saturday about an electronic store located at Rimi Uku that was burgled and items carted away.

The statement partly read, “Upon receipt of the complaint, an investigation was immediately launched to arrest the criminals and recover the stolen items.

“Consequently, four suspects were arrested in connection to the crime, namely: Sa’ad Kashina, 24yrs, Bawa Saidu, 30yrs, Sagir Mohammed, 28yrs, and Isiaka Mohammed, 20yrs, all males of Doma and Lafia, respectively, where four Kapital solar batteries and two 32-inch LG television sets were recovered from them as exhibits.”

It added that, upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to selling four stolen laptops for N30,000 in Makurdi, Benue State.

The statement revealed that in a separate case, officers of the Masaka Division arrested one Bissan Mark following a theft report.

“A search warrant was executed at his residence, where one locally fabricated revolver pistol and a knife were recovered as exhibits,” it added.

In the statement, the state commissioner of police, CP Umar Nadada, was reported to have directed Divisional Police Officers to conduct thorough investigations in both cases and charge the suspects to court.

PUNCH reported last Sunday that the Nasarawa State Police command arrested a 26-year-old suspected armed robber, David Samuel, who was said to have been disturbing the peace of the residents in the Karu Local Government Area of the state.
