Nasarawa Assembly speaker hails victory of 2 lawmakers at re-run elections

The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, has hailed the victory of two members of the House, Muhammed Adamu Omadefu of APC Keana constituency and Musa Abubakar Ibrahim, of NNPP Doma South constituency, at the just concluded re-run elections on Saturday, in Nasarawa State.

The Speaker, while reacting to their victories said it has justified the lawmakers popularity and trust among their people and called on the opponents to join hands with them to build their constituencies and the State at large.

He also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a hitch free exercise and the security agencies for ensuring a peaceful atmosphere through out the exercise.

The Speaker, also commended the electorates for having faith in the lawmakers and re-elected them during the re-run elections while emphasizing that with the completion of the exercise, the Nasarawa State House of Assembly is now fully completed to carry out its responsibilities.

He re-affirmed the 7th Assembly’s commitment under his watch to leave no stone unturned to deliver on their mandate as well as enhance effective synergy with other arms of government for accelerated development.

It would be recalled that the two members were taken to elections tribunal and appeal court, who nullified their elections and ordered for re-run in some polling units in their various constituents.
