Against the backdrop of the rising naira to dollar exchange rate, Social Media influencer, Reno Omokri, has called on Nigerians to patronize made-in-Nigerian products as it is the only way the country can sustain its drive towards achieving industrialisation.
Mr Omokri, who stated this via a tweet on Thursday, submitted that the Naira will not rise, if we pray for it but will only appreciate when the citizens patronize locally made products and service.
NATIONAL ACCORD recall that the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye had lamented over the rising Naira to Dollar exchange rate, calling on Nigerians to pray with all their strength to God as a lot of people are suffering.
Reacting to this, Mr. Omokri said: “Go to your church or mosque and tell your pastor to stop praying for the Naira to rise. Instead, ask them to preach #GrowNairaBuyNaija. Let them ask their congregations to use only Glo to make calls and drive to religious services in an Innoson car. They should eat Dangote spaghetti and celebrate their parties with grown-in-in-Nigeria rice.
“Tell the young ones who want to marry to wear made in Nigeria agbada, aso oke, isi agu, Senator. You do not need a suit and tie or a wedding dress to marry. You do not even need a church or mosque to marry. You can marry in your father’s house, with all of you wearing made-in-Nigeria aso ebi.
“Both the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and the Christian Association of Nigeria should be bold enough to join me in asking all leaders to do their medicals in Nigeria. Appeal to our beloved National Assembly members to drive Innosons. And urge all public officials to fly Air Peace, except if they do not fly the route.
“The Naira will not rise if we pray for it. The Naira will only appreciate when we Buy Nigerian. Am I lying?
“You can hate me personally and still love Nigeria patriotically enough to #BuyNaijaToGrowTheNaira.
