Morocco has decided to extend its health emergency until Feb. 10 to halt the spread of the coronavirus, the government said on Thursday.
The government previously extended the emergency to Jan. 10 in early December.
“During a Thursday meeting in Rabat, the government decided to extend the health emergency nationwide until Feb. 10, 2021,’ the government said in a statement.
Starting Dec. 23, a nationwide curfew from 20:00 to 5:00 GMT was introduced.
Celebrations, public or private gatherings are banned as well.
Restaurants, cafes, shops and malls work until 19:00 GMT.
Morocco has confirmed a total of more than 447,000 cases of COVID-19, including 7,618 fatalities. (Sputnik/NAN)
