Dr Beta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development and Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, are among Nigerians listed to receive the 2023 Global Impact Awards.
Jane Rogers, Convener of the annual event, announced the list of recipients in a statement in Abuja on Friday.
According to Rogers, the award ceremony, with the theme “Poverty Alleviation: Implementing Policies that Will Galvanize the Nigerian Economic Development,” is scheduled to hold on Oct. 28 in Abuja.
“Preparation is on top gear to host our special guests who will be attending the event from different parts of the world.
“The award show is designed to honour exceptional individuals and brands that have made remarkable positive contributions on a global scale.
“It also aims to showcase and celebrate outstanding achievers, thereby elevating their public image and fostering wider recognition of their brands both locally and internationally.
“With our esteemed partners and extensive publicity efforts, this event promises to be a significant platform for brand visibility” she said.
According to her, other Nigerians listed for the award include the wife of Kwara Governor, Mrs Olufolake Abdulrazaq, Hon. Ekene Adam, Dr Chetachi Ecton, Amb. Chris Odey, Dr Alioha Chikaodinaka –Emmanuel, Dr Josephine Abraham,Terry G and Emmanuel Ogebe, among others.
The convener added that recipients from the global community include Dr Yaw Trum (Ghana); Hon. Karishma Pelham Raad (Liberia); Jean Francois Merdy (France); Emmanuel Ogebe; Dominic Goodman (Ghana); Michael Strano. (Australia)
According to her, the event will attract celebrities from Nigeria and different parts of the world such as USA, Kenya, Ghana, Liberia, Uganda, South Africa and France.
