Minister urges Nigerian youths to leverage FG’s investment programs

The Minister of Youth Development and Sports, Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, has encouraged Nigerian youths to explore and invest in the various opportunities provided by the federal government.

These opportunities include investment programs, agricultural schemes, soft and capital loans, entrepreneurship and skills acquisition trainings.

During her visit to Borno State, the minister highlighted the federal government’s plans and programs aimed at empowering youths to be self-reliant.

She also appreciated the hospitality accorded to her and her entourage by Governor Zulum and the State Commissioner of Youth Development and Sports.

The minister emphasized that the federal government will continue to support and assist youths despite economic challenges.

She called on youths to cooperate and support the government at all levels to develop and stabilize the economy, emphasizing their role as key stakeholders in national development, peace, and security.

During the North East Zonal town hall meeting, the minister interacted with youths and students, addressing their concerns and pledging to relay their demands to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

She advised youths to be productive, active, and enterprising, disassociating themselves from crimes and social vices.

Governor Zulum appreciated the minister’s visit and urged her to continue supporting state government programs and projects on youth development. He highlighted the state government’s efforts in sponsoring sports competitions, establishing skills acquisition centers, and empowering youths across the state.

The Borno State Commissioner of Sports and Poverty Alleviation announced cash donations to NYSC corps members and visiting youths from other states, assuring prompt monthly allowances payment and charging them to be law-abiding.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, youth organizations, Corps members, and student leaders, emphasizing the commitment to youth development and empowerment.
