Former international, Moses Kpakor, has charged the Super Eagles to face the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon with utmost confidence as he said the reigning African Champions are the ones to be jittery.
On September 1 the giants of African football will clash at the Nest of Champions in Uyo in the first leg of the double header for the ticket to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Although the Eagles are clearly ahead of their opponents, most Nigerians are not sure of the team that lost 0-2 at home against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the 2018 AFCON qualifiers.
However, the former BCC Lions and Abiola Babes midfield maestro has said even as the match against Cameroon is going to be a tough one, the Eagles not be afraid.
“Traditionally, any match between Nigeria and Cameroon is always very tough. This very fixture is not going to be an exception.
“However, one good thing is that the Eagles are already on top of the group. They won their first two matches so this should give them the motivation to face the Lions of Cameroon who are playing catch up.
“So if you ask me, the pressure should be on Cameroon who are right now behind the Super Eagles. There is no reason for the Eagles to become jittery. They only need to compose themselves for the big clash,” he said.
Kpakor however expressed concern over the goalkeeping department which he said may pose a serious challenge to the Eagles.
“My only worry is the area of goalkeeping but I hope the handlers of the team will find a quick solution to it,” he said.
