Kenya’s tea exports fall in April as depressed rain hurts production

Kenyan tea exports fell to 49.5 million kilogrammes in April, compared to 59.8 million kilogrammes in March.

According to a study released on Friday by Kenya’s Tea Board, production has shrunk due to low rainfall.

According to the data, Kenya shipped tea to 48 countries, down from 50 in March.

Pakistan remained Kenya’s largest tea importer in April, importing 18 million kilograms, or 36% of the country’s total tea exports.

Egypt, the United Kingdom, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, and Iran came in second and third, respectively.
