The founder of the Glorious Word and Power Ministries, Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah says he is not using any supernatural powers as is being speculated by a sector of the Ghanaian public.
According to him, he started the work of God at age 13 and has since not deviated from his calling.
“I started the work of God at the age of 13 years so I’m not using any supernatural powers but it is by the Grace of God, so all my members should come to church on Sunday”, he added.
Speaking on Kofi TV on Friday, Rev Owusu Bempah said Ghanaians do not understand his calling, explaining that God uses two ways in speaking to his people through him (Owusu Bempah).
Firstly, he said God speaks directly through him, over which means he said he has no control. The second means, he said, is through dreams or visions, which he said he has control over.
His New Year eve prophecies included the imminent deaths of a number of prominent politicians and statesmen, including the National Chief Imam.
Rev Bempah insisted that God indeed spoke through him at the Watchnight service on December 31, 2018, hence the prophecies he gave at the all-night service were directly from the Throne of Grace and not by himself.
He denied that the prophecies are intended to cause fear and panic.
Reacting to the calls by sections of the public for him to be arrested, Owusu Bempah said he has done no wrong and rather feels a section of Ghanaians want to torment him.
On Wednesday a group of youth stormed the church premises at Odorkor in Accra, angry at the inclusion of the name of the Chief Imam in the list of prominent persons prophesied to die in the cause of the year. They tore down glass windows and pulled down a billboard bearing Owusu Bempah’s image. The youth served notice their action was just a warning unless Owusu Bempah apologised for his utterances.
