Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia has called on the member of the House of Representatives representing Ado/ Ogbadibo/ Okpokwu federal constituency, Philip Agbese to stop the attacks and ‘uncomplimentary’ remarks, especially the recent strange behaviour exhibited by the National Assembly member, describing the act as disturbing and not befitting his status.
The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Tersoo Kula disclosed this during a press conference in Makurdi
The Governor’s spokesman who reacted to Agbese’s out boost that Governor Hyacinth Alia led government was a den of demons, advised the lawmaker to face his legislative duties to deliver on his campaign promises to his people instead of pursuing shadows.
He recalled that when the same lawmaker made mockery of himself by taking down the portrait of Governor Alia in his office as well as ran commentaries not befitting of his status as representative of the people, government viewed the act as abnormal but kept calm in order to see his further actions.
Kula described as unacceptable and deliberate move by Agbese to malign a man who is delivering on his mandate by especially taking the welfare of Benue people through payment of salaries and pensions as top priority, provision of infrastructure as well as other people oriented projects.
He said Governor Alia would never be deterred or distracted by such antics but would remain focused in the execution of the people oriented projects for the common good of the people of Benue State.
Speaking further, Kula posed that even if the lawmaker wished to be Governor, at the moment, the people of Benue spoke loud and clear during the last general elections that they preferred Governor Alia and urged him as a representative of the people to remain focused.
