Fuel Prices: No Intentions for an Upward Review, NNPCL Reassures the Nigerian Public

On Wednesday, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited made it clear that they are not planning to raise the fuel prices, also known as Premium Motor Spirit.

In a statement, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, urged Nigerians to ignore rumors about a possible increase in petrol prices.

The company emphasized that there is no need for panic buying, as they have no intention of raising the cost of the product. In short, the NNPC assures the public that there won’t be an immediate increase in the price of petrol.

“NNPC Ltd urges Nigerians to disregard unfounded rumors and assures them that there are no plans for an upward review of the PMS price.

Motorists nationwide are advised against engaging in panic buying, as there is presently ample availability of PMS across the country.”

Some Nigerians had expressed fear following the revelation by oil marketers that the cost of petrol should be around N1,200/liter if it was not being subsidized, considering the cost of the commodity in other climes.
