Mr. Gbenga Shobo has been appointed the new Managing Director/CEO designate of the First Bank, one of the leading commercial banks in Africa.
Shobo, whose appointment was approved by he board of the bank at its meeting today, is to succeed the incumbent Managing Director/CEO, Sola Adeduntan, whose tenure expires at the end of April 2021.
Prior to the appointment, Shobo was the Deputy Managing Director of the bank.
The board, chaired by Mrs. Ibukun Awoshika, also approved the appointment of Abdullahi Ibrahim as Deputy Managing Director, with Mr. Ini Ebong, Mr. Segun Alebiosu, Mr Seyi Oyefeso and Mrs Bashirat Odunewu as Executive Directors.
All the appointments are subject to the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
