Prominent Nigerian politician and statesman, Mallam Adamu Ciroma, has passed on at the age of 84.
The one-time Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and died at the Turkiush Hospital in Abuja on Thursday.Ciroma, who aspired for Nigeria’s presidency under the defunct Natonal Party of Nigeria (NPN) during the second republic and the National Republican Convention (NRC) in the ill-fated tranasition programme of the Babangida regime, also served as Minister of Agriculture as well as Finance under the Obasanjo administration.
He came to limelight the first editor of the New Nigerian, the mos influential newspaper in its days.
