Ethiopian Airline’s 3 months on-time performance surpasses industry average -Official

Ethiopian Airline Group said it had reached 91 per cent on-time performance of all global flight departures for the last three months while the industry average stood around 85 per cent.

Mr Tewolde GebreMariam, the Chief Executive Officer of the Airline Group in a statement, said the airline had operated a total of 18,385 flights in January, February and March,  making it to score 91 per cent on-time departures.

He said customers’ feedback on the COVID-19 Travel Requirements, especially expiry of Negative PCR Test certificated by many countries after 72 hours, had made on-time flight departures and smooth connectivity more important than ever in the past.

“As a result, our winning team has made it top priority and achieved record levels of flight punctuality. As a customer-centric airline, we make a substantial investment to enhance our customer service.

“When customers choose Ethiopian Airlines, we make sure that they get the best possible experience with us, including arriving to their destinations on time.

“Last three months have been extraordinarily productive in terms of efficiency in our flight operations.

“I am proud of my colleagues who are committed to eliminating  inconveniences  for our esteemed passengers,” he said.

He said that on-time performance referred  to an airline departure or arrival that occurred within 15 minutes of the scheduled time.

He noted that punctuality was of paramount importance for passengers, adding that delay or cancellation affected their itinerary and made passengers to incur extra costs. ((NAN)
