Emirs of Gwandu, Argungu pay Sallah homage to Sen. Wamakko

Two most respected traditional leaders from Kebbi State, the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Ilyasu Bashar and that of Argungu, Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammadu Mera, have paid Sallah homage to APC leader in Sokoto State, Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.

The traditional leaders said the essence of their visit was to congratulate Wamakko over the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and his reelection as Senator for the third time. They also congratulated the Sokoto State Governor-elect, Hon. Ahmed Aliyu, on his election victory.

Emir of Argungu, Samaila Mera, who spoke on behalf of his colleague, informed Senator Wamakko that both Kebbi and Sokoto States has long standing mutual relationship as brothers.

He added that the two states shared many things in common, ranging from religion, tradition as well as customs amongst others.

This according to Mera, forms part of the reasons why they came to Sokoto state to rejoice with Senator Wamakko over the completion of the Ramadan fast and to also felicitate with the Governor-elect, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto.

The Emir prayed Allah, the Almighty to continue to grant more prosperity to both states, as well as divine protection.

Joyfully responding to the visit, Senator Wamakko, while welcoming the guests expressed delight and surprise at the powerful delegation.

Wamakko further confirmed that, the visit is no doubt a confirmation of the long standing mutual and cordial relationship between the two states.

The highly respected Senator Wamakko whose Sokoto personal residence is like a mini Mecca for visitors of different walks and shades, also appreciated the traditional leaders and their entire Emirate councils for the visit on behalf of the Sokoto Governor-elect, adding that, they should continue to pray for them to discharge their duties in a manner that will please God and humanity.

The delegation of Kebbi traditional leaders was led to Senator Wamakko’s residence by the Galadiman Garin Sokoto, Alhaji Aliyu Attahiru Galadanci Sokoto.

A statement signed by Senator Wamakko’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Bashar Abubakar named those on ground to witness the visit to include, the Sokoto State Governor-elect, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, former Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Republic of Tanzania, Amb. Sahabi Isah Gada, the DG of NTI, Prof Musa Garba Maitafsir and some members of both National and State Houses of Assembly, amongst others.
