The Media Team of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has issued a warning regarding individuals and groups fraudulently using the governor’s compendium, “5th Verdict”, to solicit money from prominent personalities.
This is contained in a statement issued by Mr. Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi, the Senior Special Assistant, New Media to Governor Zulum.
Mr. Bundi said these scammers claim to be associates of the Media Team and are attempting to defraud people by selling the compendium or soliciting donations.
He said: “It has come to the notice of the Media Team of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum that certain individuals and groups have been going round to defraud prominent personalities by using the Compendium to solicit for money or donations, while fraudulently claiming that they are associates of Zulum’s Media Team.
“We completely disclaim these fraudulent characters and their dishonourable actions and hereby clarify that the “5th Verdict” is not for sale and is not to be used for any fundraising or financial solicitation.
“Any attempts to solicit financial contributions in whatever guise is unauthorised and should be promptly reported to the security agencies.
“The general public will recall that the “5th Verdict,” a compendium of news reports, analyses, features, columns, commentaries, discourses, editorials, selected speeches, and scorecard of the fifth year of Prof. Zulum’s tenure as Governor of Borno State, from May 29, 2023 to May 29, 2024, was recently unveiled by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Bukar Tijani, and is currently being circulated to the general public at no cost.
“Governor Zulum’s Media Team strongly advise the public to be cautious when approached by individuals, groups or organisations offering the “5th Verdict” in exchange for financial support.
