COVID-19: Nigeria records 433 new cases, 2 deaths

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported two COVID-19-related deaths on Thursday, as well as an additional 433 COVID-19 infections in 16 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

This was announced by the NCDC on Friday morning.

According to NCDC, the 433 new coronavirus cases raise the overall number of illnesses in the country to 203,514.

FCT topped the infection chart with 191 cases, surpassing Lagos with 79 instances, according to the agency. In eastern Nigeria, the state of Anambra reported 63 cases.

Rivers (27), Plateau (13), Oyo (10), Delta (9), Ondo (8), Edo (7), Gombe (6), Akwa Ibom (5), Borno (5), Ekiti (4), Bayelsa (2), Zamfara (2), Enugu (1), and Kano (1) are among the other states (1).

According to NCDC, 191,950 Nigerians have been released across the country, while 8,988 have been detained.

According to the center, 2,997,060 million people out of a population of around 200 million have been tested.

NCDC stated that the national response actions are still being coordinated by a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) that has been activated at Level II.
