COVID-19: NCDC reports 407 new infections

As of August 1, 2021, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported 407 new COVID-19 infections from 16 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

On Monday morning, the NCDC released new information on its official website.

The new illnesses represent a reduction from the 497 instances reported the day before.

According to the public health office, the latest statistic increased the overall number of confirmed cases in the country.

NCDC also revealed that no new deaths were reported on Sunday, bringing the total number of fatalities to 2,149.

Lagos-160, Akwa Ibom-75, Ondo-51, Abia-33, Oyo-29, Kaduna-18, Katsina-7, and Gombe-6 were among the 407 new cases reported.

Ogun-6, Ekiti-5, Delta-4, FCT-4, Ebonyi-3, Edo-2, Niger-2 are among the others, with Bayelsa and Nasarawa each reporting one case, the data, according to it, include zero cases.

No new deaths were confirmed on Sunday, bringing the overall number of fatalities to 2,149, according to the NCDC.

The 407 new cases reported were from Lagos-160, Akwa Ibom-75, Ondo-51, Abia-33, Oyo-29, Kaduna-18, Katsina-7, and Gombe-6.

Others are Ogun-6, Ekiti-5, Delta-4, FCT-4, Ebonyi-3, Edo-2, and Niger-2, with Bayelsa and Nasarawa reporting one incidence each.

According to it, the data has increased.
