Convocation: ATBU set to graduate 15,470 students

Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, is set to graduate 15,460 students from its combined convocation ceremony.

Among the graduating students are the University’s first set of 25 medical doctors, ATBU Vice Chancellor,Prof. Mohammad Ahmed Abdulazeez has said.

At a pre-convocation press briefing, Prof.Abdulazeez informed that 337 students will be awarded 1st Class degrees, 5489 students for 2nd Class Upper, 7241 students for 2nd Class Lower, 1767 students for 3rd Class,and 526 will bag pass.

The combined convocation ceremony scheduled for 22nd to 24th February 2024.

The Vice Chancellor added: “We are graduating a combined total number of 19,252 students with a breakdown of 176 PhDs,1559,Masters,1,559, Post Graduate Diploma, Undergraduates 15,460,Postgraduate 1,653 and 404 Diploma ,total 19,252.

He also announced that “award of honourary Doctorate Degrees to five distinguished Nigerians”will be honored on the convocation day.

Meanwhile, Prof. Umar Pate, a Professor of Media Studies is billed to give a talk on Education and Nigeria’s National Integration in the Digital Age Matters.

The ceremony which is to take place at the Yelwa and Gubi campuses will have 2 projects commissioned and 17 others at Gubi by BAUCHI state Governor, Sen’ Bala Mohammed, Dr.Dikko Radha Gov’ of Katsna state, Minister of Education, Prof.Tahir Mamman, Health Minister, Prof. ALI Pate and the 3 senators representing Bauchi state at the National Assembly.
