Taraba State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Augustina Godwin, has praised the Taraba State Polytechnic, Suntai, for its exceptional leadership and commitment to providing quality education.
Speaking at the institution’s 2023/2024 matriculation ceremony, Dr. Godwin expressed her delight with the polytechnic’s efforts to ensure students receive a well-rounded education that will prepare them for the labor market.
She congratulated the matriculating students on taking a significant step towards their academic journey and urged them to focus on their studies, avoiding vices and distractions.
The Acting Rector of the polytechnic, Dr. Amos Danlami Agbu, emphasized the importance of hard work and dedication to academic pursuits. He reiterated the institution’s zero-tolerance policy towards cultism, examination malpractice, and other vices. Dr. Agbu also appealed to staff to refrain from hate speech, fake news, and other negative behaviors that could tarnish the polytechnic’s image.
The Rector highlighted the institution’s rapid growth and initiatives to address financial challenges through diverse revenue streams, including entrepreneurship centers and agricultural projects.
He expressed gratitude to the Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for his support in making education accessible to all, reducing school fees, and providing funds for course accreditation and staff salaries.
The Acting Registrar, Mr. Kwesinde Biki, thanked the management and Commissioner for their presence at the matriculation ceremony.
