Burkinabe president consoles Cameroonians after ghastly road accident

The President of Burkina Faso, Roch Marc Christian Kaboré, on Wednesday extended his condolences to the people of Cameroon after the death of 53 people in a road accident in the west of the country.

“I learned with sadness, the traffic accident on Wednesday, in the west of Cameroon, that resulted in the death of over 50 people. I offer my sincere condolences to my counterpart Paul Biya and all the grieving families,” Kaboré wrote on Twitter.

The accident occurred when a passenger bus and a vehicle carrying fuel collided, according to the governor of the Western Region, Awa Fonka Augustine, quoted by local media. (PANA/NAN)
