He is a well-known political figure in Ghana after two decades of trying his hands at the presidency, albeit unsuccessful . But there are other intriguing and inspiring untold stories of Dr. Edward Nasigre Mahama of the People’s National Convention (PNC).
Dr. Mahama has been appointed Ambassador at Large by his political rival, President Nana Akufo-Addo. When he took his turn at TV3’s ’20-by-20? series, the 2016 presidential candidate of the PNC, who is a practicing gynecologist , revealed that his father died before he was born.
He also recounted the chilling aspect of how the mother lost her eye as an expectant mother. Dr. Mahama was challenged to become a medical doctor by the condition of a woman who suffered from a fistula condition which caused her a lot of embarrassment in her community.
Interestingly, he conceived the idea of becoming a doctor at a time when there was no medical school in Ghana.
