Barely one week after the announcement by the Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Iormem Alia for the preparedness of the state government to employ about 9700 teachers, efforts have been put in place to offer employment to qualified Benue youths as teachers.

Already the management of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has called for applications from qualified candidates for employment as teachers.

A statement by the Secretary of the board Dr. Joseph Jande for the Executive Chairman said qualified candidates should apply for appointment.

According to the statement, individuals with relevant qualifications to contribute to the advancement of education in Benue State should apply.

Candidates with teaching qualifications like the NCE, B. Ed. B. Sc. Ed and BA Ed should according to the statement, apply.

The board also insisted that applicants should not be more 35 years of age even as their declaration of age that is more than six months old would not be accepted.

This opportunity, the board emphasized is only opened to Benue indigenes.
