State-owned Air Namibia has been voted the second best regional airline in Africa by United Kingdom-based consultancy Skytrax that runs an airline and airport review and ranking site.

This is the third time in a row that Air Namibia is winning the award.

Royal Air Maroc was voted the best regional airline in Africa for 2018, according to the Skytrax World Airline Awards.

The awards, often referred to the “the Oscars of the aviation industry,” are quality accolades for the airline industry and a global benchmark of airline excellence.

Travellers across the globe take part each year in the world’s airline passenger satisfaction survey to decide the winners.

Air Namibia corporate communications manager Paul Nakawa said the recognition is an acknowledgement that the state-owned airliner is on the right track.

“We pledge to continue improving our service standards, to ensure that clients get quality and value for their money,” he said.

The World Airline Awards began in 1999 when Skytrax launched its first annual airline customer satisfaction survey.
