Armed robbers kill 500-level law student of NSUK

A 500 level law student of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Mallam Baba Jazuli, was on Friday night killed by a yet-to-be identified armed men near Akwanga town, the headquarters of Akwanga LG of Nasarawa State.

A course mate of the deceased, Jibril Usman Umar, who confirmed the unfortunate incident, said he was killed along Angwan Mada axis an adjacent village of Akwanga.

According to him, Jazuli, was “attacked and brutally butchered to death” by unknown persons on Friday night.

The deceased corpse, was as at last night deposited at the mortuary in Akwanga and burial scheduled for today Saturday. Until his demise, Jazuli is also the Chief Judge of NSUK-LAW Court.

Police public Relations Officer in Nasarawa State, DSP Ramhan Nansel, said the information got to them yesterday at about 17:05hrs, about an attack on the area court judge of Rinze village, Akwanga LGA.

According to him, “The judge, after close of work, boarded a commercial motorcycle from Rinze to Rinze junction; on reaching Risha village, he was attacked by 3 unidentified men armed with cutlass, stick and a gun where he was beaten and machetted”

“Upon receipt of the information, Police operatives attached to Gudi Division immediately raced to the scene where the victim was moved to General Hospital Akwanga, where he was confirmed dead and the corpse deposited at same hospital for post mortem examination”

“The Commissioner of Police has ordered a comprehensive investigation to unravel the faces behind this dastardly act and commiserate with the family over the irreparable loss and prayed God to comfort them in a special way and further assured them that justice will be served” he said.
