Hundreds of furious customers on Friday besieged the  office of ntel located at 134 Aminu Kano Crescent in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja to complain about poor services being officer by the telecom company.

A number of the customers who spoke to our correspondent, expressed displeasure over their inability to enjoy the services of ntel  after payment.

Owned by NatCom Development & Investment Limited and trading as ntel, the network provider prides itself as “Nigeria’s most revolutionary 4G/LTE-Advanced  network that delivers superfast call-connect times, crystal clear Voice-over-LTE and high-speed Internet access (up to 100Mbps).”

It metamorphosed from the defunct M-Tel (owned by the defunct Nigeria Telecommunications Limited, NITEL) which as privatized a few years ago by the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) after several failed attempts.

For some weeks, however, customers within the nation’s capital, Abuja, who subscribed to ntel’s data service, have been unable to enjoy internet services even as the company continued to collect payment and recharge the various devices without actually activating their data bundles.

It was learnt that ntel’s platform collapsed a couple of days ago, but the management of the company failed to offer explanation to frustrated customers.

Faced with this situation and with no staff of the company willing to say when normal services would be respored, many of the customers who stormed the Abuja office, threatened to dump ntel for other network providers

Ntel currently covers Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt, with the management promising at the onset  “to deliver value by providing the most advanced broadband-based solutions and supreme service.”
