Akufo-Addo to chair presentation of books launch on President Buhari on Friday

Two new books on the legacies of President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria are schedule for public presentation in Abuja tomorrow.

The event, billed for the State House Conference Center, Abuja, is expected to be chaired Ghanaian President, Nana Akufo-Addo.

President Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, confirmed this in Abuja on Wednesday.

He quoted the Chairman, Organizing Committee for the event, Ambassador Babagana Kingibe, as saying that the other distinguished guests expected at the book presentation include Nigeria’s the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Vice President-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima.

The books for public presentation are: “STATE OF REPAIR: HOW MUHAMMADU BUHARI TRIED TO TRANSFORM NIGERIA FOR THE BETTER” by Anthony Goldman, former Journalist and ex Africa Editor of the Financial Times of London; and “THE LEGACY OF MUHAMMADU BUHARI” by Senator Abu Ibrahim, former representative of Southern Katsina Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

President Buhari is expected to hand over power to the President-elect, Bola Tinubu on May 29, 2023 at the expiration of his eight-year tenure in office.

The former military Head of State (December 1983 – August 1985), was elected as Nigeria’s 5th civilian president in 2015 on the platform of the All Progressives Party (APC), and won a second term of four years in 2019.
