Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, today inspected the collapsed bridge along Mokwa – Jebba Road in Tatabu Village, Niger State. The collapse of the bridge was caused by heavy rain fall in the state on June 12, 2017.
Since then, travel time has increased from 2 hours to over 12 hours on the Mokwa – Jebba axis. The visit of His Excellency is to assess both the level of damage and progress of work, aimed at hastening the rebuilding of the bridge between Gidan Mai and Bakani Village. According to him, “The alternative route should become passable in another fortnight…everyone is committed to making sure it happens”
The Acting President was accompanied by the Governor of Niger State, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, and the Honorable Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde R. Fashola, SAN.
