NOA to create citizens brigade in Nigeria – DG

The Director General, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Onilu Isa has announced the creation of Citizens Brigade in Nigeria to add to the existing nrigades.

The Director General of NOA disclosed this during a press briefing at the Benue State Directorates office, Federal Secretariat Makurdi, Benue State Capital.

The DG, who was represented by the Director on Special Duties and State Operations, Akogi David at the press briefing on the National Value Charter and National Anthem, explained that the main aim of creating citizen brigade is to sensitise the Nigerian children on how to love, defend, cherish and as well respect the culture and noms of the country.

He informed that boys brigade and boys scott have been performing a great role in the Nigeria society which in the same vein, the intended Citizens Brigade will serve though greater, modernize and digitize level.

Also commenting, the state  Director, Audu Bitrus stated the seven (7) responsibilities of a government and the seven (7) citizens responsibilities code named ” The Nigeria Promise” and “The Citizens Code”.

He emphasized that the responsibilities  are not far fetched from equality, democracy, entrepreneurship/ employment, industry and meritocracy as we as peace/ security for ” The Nigerian Promise.

While for “The Citizens Code” we have, discipline, duty of care, tolerance/respect, leadership and transparency as well as resilience and environment awareness creation.

He advised both the government and the citizens to stick to their responsibilities in other to keep the country in a better position so that the future leaders (children) will build on to take the country to its great heights as mentioned in the readopted national Anthem.

“Nigerians should call it readopted national Anthem than referring to it as a new Nigeria national Anthem”, he emphasized.
