Group urges Tinubu to sack Mele Kyari to prevent potential sabotage of Renew Hope Agenda

The Concerned Nigerian Youths for Good Governance (CNYGG) are urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider replacing Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), amid concerns over the recent fuel price increase.

In a statement on Wednesday, the convener of CNYGG, Ambassador Mahmud Abubakar, argued that the hike in fuel prices has exacerbated the already challenging economic conditions in the country, particularly in the transportation sector, which has a ripple effect on the cost of commodities.

“The CNYGG believes that the timing of the fuel price increase is inappropriate, especially after the recent “Days of Rage” protests, and perceives it as an attempt to undermine the “Renew Hope” administration.

“The group is calling for Kyari’s removal and replacement with a more competent team to manage the NNPC”, he said.

Ambassador Abubakar emphasized that the group seeks to promote good governance and is concerned about the potential consequences of not addressing the current situation.

He stressed that the nation needs hope and positive changes, rather than actions that may be perceived as sabotage.”
