Job Title: Mental Health Psychosocial Support and Protection (MHPSS-P) Expert

Job Description
- We are currently looking to fill the role of a Mental Health Psychosocial Support and Protection (MHPSS-P) Expert who will be responsible for supporting and supervising the MHPSSP activities implemented by ACF’s teams and other partners and be the referent between the field teams and the technical advisor at HQ.
- To develop the ACF’s MHPSSP sector in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct trainings on MHPSS and care practices for ACF and partners’ psychologists, psychosocial workers lay counselors, and health providers according to ACF MHPSS training package for field teams, and to ACF MHPSS and Care Practices standards and protocols;
- Adapt or prepare coaching and materials for the field team based on the protocols validated by the ACF MHPSS regional capacity building expert;
- Ensure continuous clinical supervision (including case studies and self-care) and technical support to the field teams and activities, weekly, for groups, individuals, and on the job;
- Provide support for ACF protocols implementation;
- Contribute to the analysis of the MHPSS-P humanitarian situation;
- Contribute to the identification and understanding of MHPSS-P interventions, actors, and partners in ACF’s regions of intervention;
- Contribute to the definition of key sectoral strategic axes of intervention in line with ACF’s MHPSS frameworks and mission strategy;
- Assist the MHPSS team;
- Provide support to partners and teams for MHPSS and care practices activities implementation;
- Support the deployment of the monitoring system (data collection, data analysis);
- Contribute to reporting;
- Provide flexible coverage on MHPSS project needs and temporary program management responsibilities as identified and agreed with the MHPSS Technical Advisor.
Position Requirements
- Advanced Degree in Psychology and any other relevant Degree;
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in MHPSS intervention;
- Ability to provide technical guidelines, design and develop tools and resources;
- Experience in the humanitarian and development field;
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work within a multicultural setting;
- Fluency in English with excellent communication skills;
- Ability to work independently and deliver effective results;
- Commitment to Action Against Hunger charter and values.
