Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has revealed that MTN is yet to renew its Universal Access Service License (UASL).
Director, NCC Public Affairs, Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde, made this known in a statement in Abuja on Monday.
According to Adinde, their attention was drawn to an internet publication captioned “Govt renews MTN Nigeria license amid 20 years of GSM phones.” ”The Commission had renewed MTN’s mobile operating licence for another ten years.”
“According to the online magazine, which cited regulatory filings by the NCC as its source, MTN Nigeria, the country’s largest mobile network operator (MNO), has received regulatory permission for the renewal of its operating license for another ten years with the NCC.
According to the commission, MTN Nigeria had earlier applied for the renewal of the UASL, but the application was yet to be accepted because it is still going through regulatory processes.
