At least four people were killed and six others were injured on Saturday morning in a suicide bombing in Baidoa, southwest Somalia.
Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimuu, spokesperson of the Federal Government of Somalia, said in a brief statement that the incident happened when a man wearing explosives blew himself up at a restaurant in Baidoa city of South West State.
Moalimuu said the government condemns the cowardly attack and is hoping for quick recovery of those sustained injuries.
Sadik Aden, Somali national police spokesman, said the security forces have launched investigations to establish the cause of the incident.
The Saturday incident comes amid sustained operations by Somali army against al-Shabab militants in the southern regions where the militants hold swathes of rural areas, conducting ambushes and planting landmines. (Xinhua/NAN)
