32 students bags First Class degrees at UNICAL
No fewer than thirty two students of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) has bagged First Class degrees from the University.
Also, the university will commission 5 projects at the cost of two billion naira constructed by the administration.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Florence Banku Obi disclosed this at the Conference room of her office on Monday.

She said the 36 convocation ceremony is very unique as no fewer than 8415 Students will be convocating at the weekends.
According to the Vice Chancellor, 3 eminent Nigerians will be honoured during the convocation ceremony
She said the University will be commissioning 5 projects worth N2 billion in the University community.

On why the University has imbibe the reading culture, she said the Administration has put in place quality assurance measure so that students go back to reading habits.
The Convocation ceremony which started on Thursday with visitation to the Royal Father’s Research and Exhibition will on Wednesday see the Chancellor of the University Ayo Bayero pay a courtesy call on the Obong of Calabar.
On Thursday, the renowned cleric, the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Mathew Kukah, will present a paper on the topic “Harmonizing our Diversity For National Development“.
On Friday will be award day for Ph.D and gala Night meant for appreciating the Staff of the University. Over 438 will be awarded PHD on Saturday.
